THE CABIN

Make yourself
at home.

Le Refuge is a private, two-storey log cabin in the heart of Saint-Adolphe-d’Howard, designed for slowing down and spending time together. Warm wood and custom plaster finishes give it a timeless character, complemented by modern comforts throughout.

The fully equipped kitchen and welcoming dining area invite home-cooked meals and good conversation around the table. Settle into the fireside nook with a book or a glass of wine beside the wood-burning fireplace, or enjoy a movie on the big-screen TV in the separate living room.

Two bedrooms and a sofa bed accommodate up to six guests. Upstairs, children have their own playroom with books and games. The renovated bathroom includes a shower and a smart toilet with a built-in bidet and heated seat—a little extra comfort during your stay.

Reliable Wi-Fi makes it easy to stay connected, while air conditioning and heating keep you comfortable year-round. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or settling in for a week, there’s room to make yourself at home.

Outside, relax on the terrace, enjoy the garden, or take a quiet moment on the swing. Your dog is welcome, too.

WHAT’S NEARBY

The lake, the mountain
and the village.

A day at the beach

Just 100 metres from Le Refuge, the village’s public beach on Lac Saint-Joseph is an easy place to spend the afternoon. Go for a swim, enjoy a family picnic, or simply relax by the water. There are swings and a play structure for the kids, picnic tables for lunch, and even a ping pong table if you bring your paddles.

Out on the lake

Just 450 metres away, the marina offers seasonal rentals of paddleboards, kayaks, pontoon boats and fishing boats. Paddle along the shoreline up to Lac Saint-Marie, or make an afternoon of exploring the lake at your own pace.

The mountain through the seasons

In winter, Mont Avalanche offers downhill skiing, snowboarding and ski touring. The surrounding outdoor trail network also offers snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and fat biking on snow.

In warmer months, explore the forest trails on foot or by mountain bike, with another reason to return when the autumn colours arrive.

Small town rhythm

Step out and explore the village’s cafés and restaurants. Share a pizza, stop for a gelato, enjoy a casual bite at La Taverne des Copains or settle in for a craft beer at Camp de Base. There’s plenty to discover, just a short walk from the cabin.

Two of our favourites you won’t want to miss are Le Gusto for a coffee and sandwich at breakfast, and Señorita Rita for a great meal and a drink.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few practical details.

Steps and stairs

Steps lead to the cabin entrance, and stairs connect the two floors.

Firewood

For firewood for the indoor fireplace, check with nearby BMR or Dépanneur Gauthier (Ultramar) before your stay to confirm availability.

Groceries

For groceries during your stay, we recommend IGA in Morin-Heights, at 680 Chemin du Village. Follow the link for directions and current opening hours.

Beer, wine & spirits

Nearby Dépanneur Robert Gauthier (Ultramar) is an SAQ agency with a selection of beer, wine and spirits. You can also pick up beer at the brewery across from the public beach, about 90 metres from Le Refuge. Check each location for current hours and selection.

Beach access

Plage Gratton is a nearby public beach, not part of the property. Check the municipality’s current opening hours and applicable admission fees before visiting. Swimming is permitted only during supervised opening hours.

Bringing your dog

Your dog is welcome at Le Refuge. When exploring the area, check each location’s pet rules. Dogs are not permitted on the sand or in the water at Plage Gratton.
